Karen spoke to an audience of over 65 general and in-house counsel about the risks that CEOs and CFOs can pose to their organizations. According to the ACFE’s 2012 Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud, these groups account for the largest dollar amounts lost to fraud each year and the largest percentage of frauds perpetrated each year.
General Counsel, many times, find themselves responsible for risk management and yet, report to the corporate leaders who have the greatest opportunity to commit fraud. Attendees learned about CEO and CFO fraud trends, red flags to look for, preventative measures they could implement within their companies and organizations and steps to take if fraud occurs or is suspected.
