Hi I’m Karen Fortune Managing Partner of IAG Forensics and Valuation and today I want to make you aware of one of the most fun things that we do here at the firm which is our internships with students from various universities across our state.
Our internship program is an opportunity for us to introduce students to real world forensic accounting. We either meet them when we teach or guest lecture at these universities. Many of them have just reached out to us through our website, but we’ve had their privilege over the years of hiring incredibly bright students into our internship program who are given the opportunity to assist with organizing the data and the documents, the very base of our analysis and then helping to perform funds tracings and asset tracings to find where the money has gone.
In some instances to help us perform investigations and then also to learn how to meet with clients in a professional setting. Forensic accounting is a great field for accountants who enjoy accounting and complex situations putting puzzles together and helping people through some circumstances that might actually be some of the worst circumstances they’ve gone through in
their life whether it be divorce, a business divorce or fraud that has happened in their companies.
We’ve recently had the opportunity to bring back one of our early interns to IAG. This woman was with us years ago learned the ropes and then went on after graduate school to work in the CPA firms doing tax and accounting and she just recently returned to us as one of our managers and we are so thrilled to have her back armed with those additional skills that she’s learned in public accounting.
If you’re interested in learning more about our internship program we welcome you to reach out our website is iagforensics.com
I appreciate it very much and look forward to hearing from you.
